Qumulo integrated its NeuralSearch with Databricks OpenSharing, letting Databricks users and AI agents access Qumulo storage when searching the Databricks repository.
Databricks rolled out OpenSharing in June as an open, cross-platform, vendor-neutral protocol for sharing AI assets including agent tools, models and unstructured data. Built on Delta Sharing, it adds Iceberg REST Catalog client compatibility to broaden data delivery coverage. Users can connect on-premises and private cloud storage via partners Everpure, MinIO, Qumulo and VAST Data.
Qumulo has launched its official OpenSharing integration. NeuralSearch is embedded storage search technology that converts unstructured data into searchable intelligence via SQL, natural language and semantic search, eliminating external crawlers and third-party indexing tools, and comes native to Qumulo Data Platform and Cloud Data Fabric. Paired with OpenSharing, clients gain a unified global data view in Unity Catalog covering all sites, regions and clouds for cross-team discovery, query and collaboration on tabular datasets.

The firms note secure direct links between Databricks compute and Qumulo’s end-to-edge storage cut latency caused by frequent cross-region data replication. The open, lock-free architecture expands Qumulo’s addressable market across finance, life sciences and manufacturing, enabling smooth data pipelines between storage and AI analytics on all mainstream public clouds.

MinIO already supports the protocol, embedding OpenSharing natively within its AIStor Table Sharing stack. Orban added MinIO’s integration connects on-prem data to Databricks without cumbersome replication, accelerating hybrid cloud analytics insights.
Everpure and VAST Data’s OpenSharing connectors remain in private preview. Databricks also received commitments from Cohesity, Commvault, HPE, NetApp, Nutanix, Rubrik and more to launch native integrations before 2026 year-end.
